Me encanta!

I woke up at 7 AM so I could go to my morning exercise class at the library.  After class I came home and the sister of my tica mom and her husband were here visiting my tica mom.  I talked with them for a little bit.  They are very nice and speak slowly so I can understand what they are saying.  Afterwards I ate lunch with Maria and Ana.  Worked some more on my blog and then went to the city with Greg and Tara.  The Costa Rica Hotel has a special place in my heart because Doña Aida took me there in 2001.  She couldn't leave her house and they did not have a lot of money so it was a sacrifice for her to take me to the city and have coffee at a very expensive place.  In 2001 I took a picture of a guy painting mirrors.  And I saw him again....10 years later!  Took another picture of him; with disposable camera.  I should have talked with him.  Then we went to Bingo!  I LOVED it!!!!!  The fast pace, numbers in Spanish, watching everyone else play!  We left to find Tara a baseball hat with the the logo of the National Football team, but couldn't find one.  We needed to get home, my family eats at 7 PM.

Cafecito at the Hotel de Costa Rica.

-Came back at 10 because I thought there was church.  Church was open but no one there.

English

-I woke up early and sat in a hammock on the beach.
-Watched the waves and ate PB and J.
-I went back to the first waterfall because I wanted to have a good experience there.  Other people were going that way and I helped them find the fall.  They took a picture of me jumping off a big rock into the cook water.
-Came back at 10 because I thought there was a church service.  No one in the church so I sat and prayed until I realized mosquitoes were feasting on me.
-I bought a bracelet.
-The ride back was miserable!  Hot, crowded, long, and annoying!
-A guy asked me out to dinner while I was on the ferry.  Got to give him credit for asking a girl out who speaks horrible Spanish and he spoke no English.  I was too tired to really enjoy the compliment.  Maybe he will E-mail me.
-Said Goodbye to Mitch...my travel buddy. May the Lord protect him in the years to come.
Looking back at the hostel on my way to the waterfall.

The first waterfall on my hike to the bigger waterfall. Had to cross over this waterfall at the top in order to got to the path to the next waterfall.

"Pura Vida" on Cabuya beach.  We were trying to kill time until the tide went out.

The big tree on the way to Cabuya.  It was HUGE!!!

Greg and his birthday candle.  The grocery store only had numbers 7, 8, or 9 to choose from.  So, I bought number 9 since it was the greatest amount.  :)

Looking out on the beach from our restaurant.

No puedo ver a fotos. Gracias a Dios.

I woke up at 8 and my sister gave me some wise words that I have to repeating to keep my sanity.  She said that when my camera broke, I need to think of it as a new beginning.  I ate PB and J and when we went to breakfast I ordered a smoothie.  After breakfast we rented bikes and rode to the small town Cabuya.  It was a beautiful ride with beaches, farms, animals, and rivers.  But it was also hard because of the hills, heat and little wind.  I brought both cameras hoping that, since the digital one was still taking pictures....maybe the pictures would download when I got home.  Greg was able to send me pictures...thank the Lord!  When I get my pictures developed from the disposable camera I will be able to send him some pictures as well.  When we got to Cabuya, we went to the store to buy lunch stuff and have lunch on the beach.  I did not care for the beach because of all the rocks.  At 2:30 the tide went out and we were able to walk to the cemetery on the island.  We then got our bikes and rode back to Montezuma and had cafecito.  We ate at a restaurant near the beach for Greg's birthday.  I brought a candle and we sang to him when our food came out.  Then I noticed some guys playing cards and I went to sit at their table.  I wanted to play with them but it cost $10 dollars to enter and the game had already started.  We ate ice cream afterwards and sat on the beach till bed time.  I never get tired of the beach.....the sound of the waves so relaxing for me.
Us starting our bike riding adventure.

Primer fuimos Punta Reinas.

I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and had breakfast.  I was ready to meet the boys at 5:00 AM.  We went to the bus stop and there were a bunch of people already there.  The bus left at 6 AM.  We got in line and then when the bus came there was a group of students from Europe that cut the line to get on the bus.  I felt bad for the family behind us because Greg, Mitch, Ben and I were the last ones to get seats.  Other people got on but they had to stand for the entire ride.  We first went to Punta Renias and got on the ferry.  The ferry ride was about an hour and a half.  I had the worst hamburger there!  I don't even think it was real meat.  After the ferry ride we took another bus to Tambor and got off.  Got on a different bus to Montezuma.  Once we got to Montezuma we found a hostel...a room with four beds and a fan for $40 a night....$10 a person...right on the beach.  We changed and headed to the falls.  We were walking along and in the river because we couldn't find the path next to the river.  At one point I needed both hands so I put my camera in my dress...but it didn't hold it and my camera fell in the river.  I jumped in and was up to my nose feeling around for my camera.  I found it and tried to dry it off with my friends shirt.  My first day at Montezuma and my camera was ruined.  My heart just broke.  We got to the waterfall but I really didn't feel like swimming or jumping off the rocks.  Besides, I was already wet from getting my camera.  After the boys went swimming we went back to the hostel.  I called my dad in hopes I would feel better.  I went walking around and these monkeys were right next to me...so cute...and I didn't have my camera.  So, I decided to buy a disposable camera....unfortunately, I never saw the monkeys again.  The boys ate pizza that night...I brought break, PB and J so I wouldn't have to spend a lot of money on food.  And then I sat on the beach that night.
-Always meet interesting people on the buses here!
-I never get tired of listening and watching the waves!
-The current was too strong for me so I didn't go swimming that much.  The rocks cut my feet.
 Me and the boys....5:30 AM

 Getting on the Ferry

 Another Ferry passing us by.

Our room....$10 per person a night.

Me crossing the river, trying to get to the falls...the last picture I took before my camera fell in the water.

Thank you Greg for sending this to me!  The falls.  I returned on Sunday with my disposable camera to take a picture of me jumping off these rocks into the water......those pictures will have to wait to be developed.....hope having my suitcase go through security will not ruin those pictures as well.

Entonces, Greg y you fuimos a ir la escuela. Yo estaba frustrado.  Mi otra clase (de conversación) estaba bien.  Nosotros jugamos 'Go Fish'.

English

I am nervous because I have my grammatical exam today.  It is going to be so hard!  In the morning, Greg and I went to the city to buy bus tickets for the weekend.  When we got there, the man said that we needed to buy the tickets when we got on the bus.  So we went back to the school.  I went to the store, the bank, my house then to chapel to hear Alicia sing.  My exam was really hard and I was the last one to finish.  I was very frustrated because there was information on the exam that had not been taught in class.  My next class was fun and we played 'Go Fish'.  After class, we went to 'Fresas' because is was Denisia's last day.  We had dessert and said our goodbyes.  Tomorrow I head to the beach of Montezuma.

Trucks of fruit just passed us by.  Here is a truck full of pipa's and another truck full of pineapples.

Got an 'A' in this class.  Grammar class....still waiting for my last test.  Did not do well on it at all!  I am just hoping that I passed the class.

Cafecito después de clase con los amigos.  This had jello in the bottom, ice cream, shaved ice with cherry syrup, and more ice cream.  Suppose to mix it all together to kind of make a milkshake.

A girl's dream to have a skirt that twirls this high!  I came so close to buying one.  But since my house is too small, my neighbors might think me strange as I dance down the street.

 Greztle....esta mujer es muy gracioso!

El muchacho fue atacado por el toro.

Tamales después....mom would have loved them!  The drink was milk with sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and more sugar.

 Mitch and Alex.

And how cute is the flower!

Para mi sobrina, aquí está mi dormitorio.  Girls have to keep their rooms very neat over here.  If my stuff isn't neat my tica mom will come into my room, when I am away and she will align my toiletries.

I am not complaining since I get hot water!

Never thought I would love a cell phone so much!  I will be sad to leave it here in Costa Rica....but happy that it might bring joy and relief to the next student.

And yes, I am sunburned from the day before....even with sunscreen, umbrella, and sitting in the shade.....the sun at the beach is brutal.

El Parque Central de San José.  When we were going to Punta Reina we had to walk past here to get a taxi.

Mi amigo gecko que se supone que para atrapar a los insectos......he needs more friends because I get bit all the time at night.
