Hair Shaving Party

What is a party without some great food?  These cute cupcakes were amazing!
And a lit bubbly to help us relax and kick back.
My sister and her daughter talking to the hair dresser to sort out the details.
Some beautiful edible treats showed up just in time!
 Bottoms up!
Getting a little fashion magazine reading in before the big event.
These next few shots look like they were taken from an info-commercial.  LOL

 Make-up ready.
It was interesting to hear about 'Bob' the champagne cork.
This tube of lip-gloss was perfect!  When you unscrewed the lid there was a light that went off so you could see your lips while putting on the lip gloss......Christmas presents!
 Mother/sister bonding time.
 Mother/Daughter bonding time.

 Braiding the hair....
Mi sobrina got to cut off one of the braids....I tried this when my sister was 5 and didn't have much luck with the scissors, except on her bangs.....and ended up with a spanking.
 Let the shaving begin.

 Working the transition.
I think this look is so good on my sister!  Confident, sexy, rocker chic ready to work the runway.

A friend knowing when to give support.
 And the rest comes off.

 Wash and go.....not quite.
These next few shots remind me of a telenovela.......

Look at my beautiful hair as my half sister reads the horrible text in the background.....
You did what?????  I'm so angry with her...she has such beautiful hair....To find out that she kidnapped my child to lure my ex-husband to marry her only to know that her original husband was not really dead..... How dare her!!!!!
 All is forgiven.....

Bringing natural home to the family.
 A hug from dad.

Hopefully, this picture will remind her (when this ordeal is over) that maybe she needs a new paint color in her living room.....it's just not working well with all the light.

Family Coming in for a Visit

Here we go!  A little added pep to our step, new sleeping arrangements, car swapping.....who has the car seat again?
It was a wirl-wind of excitement that ended too soon but was nonstop fun the entire ride.

Picked up some Voodoo Doughnuts for a snack after getting off a 4 hour flight with a 1 and a half year old.
I just experienced how my sister and I have different cooking methods.  I'm a throw it into a bowl from a box and cook it type of gal.  She is a let's get out a cookbook, whisk the eye whites till there a stiff peaks, dry ingredients and wet ingredients in two different bowls....

The waffles turned out delicis!

Pooped little girl...after making 3 out of the 5 goals.
 Cousin bonding time!
Saw Mr. Prince rabbit at Ross.....
With Cinderella rabbit in the pumpkin.....Cute or Scarry?  I haven't decided yet.  I think I'm scarred of the fact that I could see myself being best friends with their owner.....
 Cousins!
We found purple cauliflower!  And it matched my mother's table setting!

Church....Peace.  Looking back in time and looking at what could happen in the future both drains you of a focus that needs to be in the present.  We walk this wide path of right here and right now.....a goodness that comes from who created us for his glory.....and to realize the blessings we have in the 'now'.
Mi primo is learning how to jump.
 Sisters...
 Cousins.....
Why weren't the men invited to the picture party?
We all had coordinating outfits without any discussion!   Apparently the kids did not get the 'Black and White' memo.
And we have some interesting facial expressions from my niece.  If 8 is the new 15 then 15 is going to be really scary.
So glad family could come up to visit.  So funny to see how we stand alike.  Dress alike.  Hair color is alike.

 Snuggle time....she loves snuggle time!
 ET phone home picturesque moment.

What a great day!  Great singing!  Great sermon about peace!  Great Fellowship!  Bring on the fight.  We have a family and it stretches out beyond blood, DNA, and hair color.  This place of worship has their feet on a Solid Rock that can withstand the statistics of marketing.  We are scattered all over the world ready to unite in prayer, fellowship, and understanding Word.  It doesn't mean that we get what we want.  But we have the comfort and love of a huge family while we trust in God's will.  Family has taken on a new meaning and we are ready.
