Football Scrimmage....Never Again

I will write this post to remind me to never attempt a football scrimmage again for 5th grades.  The amount of complaining, whining, pulling flag belts when not suppose to be on the field, air-headed comments 'What do I do?' after two weeks of football drills, rolling of eyes, throwing pennies on the floor, crying, and arrogance it is not worth the 3 minutes of one team actually completing a play.

They still didn't know what the numbers meant or positions.

These defensive guys tried to help me out as much as they could...... Bless their hearts as they are now crumbled up pieces of paper after being knocked over so many times.

How many times did a kid come to me saying there wasn't a number 2 only a letter Z?.........Too many!

Cones for out of bounds meant nothing to the kids as they ran for a touchdown.

Hard to see...but I taped numbers to the floor in case they couldn't remember Evens on the Right and Odds on the left.

So it is back to games involving tagging with different names to try to fake the kids in believing it is a different game.  Squirrel in the tree, Fox in the Morning, Scooter tag, Flag tag, Freezer Tag, Cat in the Corner, Fruits and Vegetables.......

A Birthday that Never Ends

And so now is the party with the friends.  Remember when you only had dinner with your family, there was a cake with candles, and then you opened up your presents?  Those were my birthday experiences.  No Chucky Cheese, Bullwinkles, Jump House, Three day extravaganza......

The party was a hit.  Giggles, candy, candy, movie, and more candy....There was a lot to do in preparation.

1.  Target
2.  Papa Murphy
3.  Spicer Brothers
4.  Harvest Bread Company
5.  Yogurt place
6.  Red Box
7.  Lunch
8.  Michaels
9.  Gas

A little dress up time...

The cutest but really gross punch.

Dancing Queens

 Make your own pizzas.

Make your own sundaes.  The good thing in this activity was that it took a long time to make the sundae.....afterwards they were too tired to eat it and the yogurt had melted.  I'm sure it didn't taste all that good anyway; chocolate mint yogurt with sour patch kids?  Yuck!

It was nice to have the Halloween candy available to use for the Sundaes.

My sister sleeping through a 'Wack-A-Mole' game.

Little brother went to see the Peanut's movie and made it home right in time for sundaes!

A little dance routine at the end of the night.
Here's to turning 9.

A Double Rainbow

It's not all 'Sunshine and Roses' in PE.

But I thank God for the Rainbows that shine through once in a while.

One Kindergartener was upset with me for putting him in time out.  And he said he was going to call the cops on me.  Bring it on!  Though part of me wanted to hug him at the same time.

Another Kindergartener twisted her ankle while skipping.  I saw her crying and asked her what was wrong.  She replied...'I just found out that skipping is dangerous!'   Who knew?

A third Kindergartener was also upset with me for putting him in time out that he preceded to tell me this was the reason he 'hated adults'.   Wait till he starts working.....sometimes we don't like adults either.  But I think his feelings changed when we started playing with the parachute and I got a hug at the end of class.

Junie B. Jones.....A surprise for my niece

My sister has declared, no more Birthday presents....just experiences.  So my niece was surprised with Junie B. Jones tickets.  And really was surprised because all day she was going on and on how we were going downtown to go shopping for her Birthday.

Kids getting their autographs from the main actors.

She still got to go out to eat with family, who will always get her Birthday presents.

She wanted Ice cream Sundaes for her 'cake'.

Her face just lit up when she saw what this present was!  Ni Ni is the best!

Sabrina loves bags!  She wanted to see the gifts as well.

Grandma always the practical one.  The clothes will come in handy now that the weather is getting colder.

A little art stand from Gigi and Papa.  Art is a good thing right now!

Here's to a girl that is turning 9 but is going on 15.  I'm going to miss the one that didn't put a limit on what people thought, but am excited to see how God is going to use her gifts in this next phase of her life.

Last day at Portland....."I'll have some Russian dressing to go."

I took a day to spend with my family to show them some sights, get a few laughs, save some money, and enjoy each others company.

Went to Bunk for lunch.
My cousin was introduced to Russian dressing.  Wish the lighting was better....or my camera.

And luckily, Salt and Straw was next door so we stopped by for some yummy ice cream.  Unfortunately, they were out of my favorite flavor so I opted for the Candyopia that shalt not disappoint!  I was tempted to get the Creepy Crawler flavor just to say I ate insects but I'm not a tecquila fan.

It was so nice we headed to Multnomah Falls to take some nice pictures.

My sister got to do her favorite thing.....cuddle and read with the cuddie baby!

My second cousin loves hair!  He gets soft hair, puts his thumb in mouth and becomes mush in your arms.  Well, he found a doll house figure and fell in love with her hair!  The cutest thing!  Unless you are his Texas cousin....when he found out through Face-time, his exclamation was...."Are you playing with Barbies?!!!?"
Until next time!
