All items were either purchased at the dollar store or found in my house.  The backpack was the most expensive...$4.99.  Each item the child can manipulate in their hands while we are learning/reviewing.  The phone was the biggest hit with both classes.

My niece starts Kindergarten...bittersweet

A fun video to relive the past...how precious she is to all that are blessed to be apart of her life.

Qué tiempo hace? What is the weather?

It's call 'CRAZY' weather in Senorita ........ classroom!  I had so much fun!  Hope the kids learned something...it might have been too crazy....the poor computer tek guy was in my room....he did not seem to enjoy the different weather patterns.  (Had to blur out the kids faces for security reasons)

  •  Winter:  Hat and scarf for 'hace frio' and 'nieva' (Threw confetti on them for 'snow')
  • Summer:  Hat, sunglasses, and fan for 'hace sol' and hace calor
  •  Spring:  Umbrella for 'llueve'.  Sprayed water on the umbrella for special effects.
  • Fall:  Put a fan in front of their face to make their hair blow...sorry, I didn't get the fan into the picture...the girl on the left has the fan...you can kinda see her hair blowing.

The after effects of a cold front blizzard coming into my room.  Had to declare my room in a 'state of emergency' and vacuum during 8th period.

Counting in Spanish

I could have made them learn the lyrics to Pitbull's 'Calle Ocho', but decided to go the clean route and have them learn more than uno, dos, tres, cuatro.

COOKIE NUMBERS!!!!!!   Bought 7 bags of cookie letters/numbers....can you believe there were only 3 number 5's out of 7 bags...I needed 20.  Fortunately, those who had a number 2 could turn it around to make a number 5.

Eating while learning.......can't think of a better way to learn.

Learning classroom objects

My supplies of pencils (lápices), pens (boligrafos), papers (las hojas de papel), notebooks (cuadernos), folders (carpetas), and books (libros).

Each student got a group of one item and they had to count in Spanish.

Then they had to tell me the item and how many items they had.

So, multi-sensory:  1.  Kinesthetic; manipulating the object.  2.  Auditory; hearing themselves and others count in Spanish.  3.  Visual;  seeing the items being manipulated  4.  Touch; Feeling the object as they count in Spanish.
