Interesting Stance

In March I took a Reading Class and I noticed there was an 'All Gender' bathroom at the University.

Well then a kids camp started in June and I noticed there was an added sign on the door.   'All Gender' on the side but "Only Girls" on the door; interesting stance.

Trip to Powells Books

It was so much fun to spend the day with my niece and nephew.  We rode the Max to the city and had a great time!

Love spending time with these two.  Kind, caring, respectful, curious, funny, honest, and energetic.  True gifts from God.

Would Love More Books!

Took my two lovelies to Powell's Book Store to get some Equitable Literacy for my classroom!  So Many Books and So Little Money!

I found this Italian book by Bruno Munari and I am in LOVE!!!  I have found my new favorite author!  Pictures later to come!

I tried to not spend more than $5 dollars per book.  Thank you to my sister, parents, and grandparents for donating so far!  My kids are going to be so excited!

When I get more donations I'll be able to get more equitable books for my students!  Please help.

Equitable Literacy can't wait.

Beach trip

Had a great beach trip with the family.  Our family get away that my sister and husband wanted, organized, paid, and didn't get to come.  But it was nice that my sister spoiled me on the special day all the way from her hospital bed.

Natural Pool Shark

Birthday surprise

Breakfast before heading to more pool time.

So cold....can't believe they don't need jackets.

Sexy Sista working the hospital garb for the camera...her son not so sure and her daughter always ready for the camera.....this might be Tía's fault.

Trying to out run the waves.

My niece fell down and got her face in a wave...

Wet, sandy beach hair.....yuck

Grampa working his sculpting magic

Great trip.  Next time if there could be less wind and the rest of my family, I know it would be even better!  I think I'm seeing a birthday tradition in the works.

Getting my classroom organized!

Spent a day getting some of my school boxes out of the house and into the classroom.  I still have two more storage places to get the rest of my teaching treasures, but I feel good to have some type of order in my home away from home.

Stuff from the attic

Would love one big table instead of four small ones together

Found a Kidney Bean shaped table!

The sad home made dry erase board.
This is what I want to put in it's space....

Don't understand how so many of these can be installed and not be used!!!  I WOULD USE MINE.......
I have heard of so many teachers putting their SMART boards in storage because they don't have the training to use their boards.  And here I know how to use a SMART board and I can't get anyone to donate a board for my sad classroom.  How is education ever going to be equitable when schools can't have any common sense about sharing?

I have signed up for two grants, Digital Wish, GoFundMe, and DonorsChoose in hopes to have one of these gems in my classroom.  One of these days.....

My dry erase board wall so kids can move and write simultaneously.
Where I am going to hang all the dry erase boards.

Now I need to focus on books.  Lots and Lots of books.  I want to bring the world in through written language.  We have 13 different languages at my school so imagine how many different cultures need to be represented so all my students feel and know they are valued and supported.

Please join me in this noble quest to for generations to come.
