More Thank-You Cards

Love making these cute little cards.  Instant gratification of cuteness.
Front with a 3D butterfly embellishment

Open it up for some cute tags inside.

And a cute tag on the back.

This Thank You card doesn't have any flaps.  I just made a pocket in the front.

With a little bling...

On this card I made the flap on the wrong side....oops.

Open it up for some cute tags and a Bible verse.

A coworker just gave me two bags of stamps and stamp pads....Cant wait to try them out!

Cute Present to Give a Coworker.

I learned how to make this project from Laura Denison's Website.  A co-worker gave me some envelopes I so decided it was the perfect set up for a 'Burst of Love'; Exploding Mailbox project.  I didn't have the time to add the details to make this box into a mailbox...so it is just a cute box.  But I love the endless tags for inspirational messages, photos, blings, and special notes you get from loved ones.
Outside of box.

Top of box.

When the box opens.

A tag coming out of the side.

Cute little envelopes to hold small tags.

Tags in front, center and behind each envelope.

And a cute little box inside to hold chocolate goodies.

V-E exceptions!

Ever been frustrated trying to spell/pronunciation....'palace'?  How about 'savage'?  Or 'famine'?  These V-E exceptions are very hard for my students because they don't spell as they are pronounced. And the endings are not pronounced as a regular V-E syllable type.

When I teach this lesson it is very beneficial to have the information on the board.  But also, the students each made their own deck of V-E exception cards (Like the purple ones up above) so they can manipulate, connect, and see the spellings for the different sounds.

Here's to spelling/pronunciation the word...'tutelage'.

Thank You Cards

I am in a Thank You Card making phase.  With Brads, Tags, Ribbons, Flowers, Punch Embellishments, and Pockets.  They are cards with many treasures inside.  I hope they are able to be mailed by using one stamp.
This one has three tags.  One tag I sprayed a glitter spray on it!!!!  LOVE IT!
Here you can see the 3D butterfly I made with my new punch from Hobby Lobby!  50% off!
Next it's not my favorite...but tried to add some bling to perk it up.
Take the tag out and you have the 'Thank you' stamp.
Then open up the flap and you have a nice 3D flower embellishment.
This one is my favorite so far.
I used the Laura Denison idea of creating construction strips to make the flaps.  I don't know if she designed this idea...but it's where I got the idea from.
You open the card up to a 3D butterfly sticker and I used a new product to outline the letters and make it 3D.  Sorry, can't remember the name right now.
Then on the third flap I created a pocket on the inside to hold some wonderful tags.
Can't wait to mail these out!

The Sky's the Limit!

Had such a great time at Prom.  I loved the venue, kids were great, food was good, and if I could have danced the night away I would have forgotten it was not my prom...but a prom for my students.
My sister got me these sparkles to put in my hair.  LOVED THEM!  They were supper easy!  They came in small packages.  You pull the backing off and stick them in groups in your hair.  Then you take a flat iron and heat them onto your hair.  Can't wait to buy more!

Then I added one of my newly made hair accessories.
Wore the dress that I wore to my Senior Prom.  LOVE elastic backing!  Keeping the promise I made to my mom years ago when I told her it was worth the extra money buying this dress because I would wear it for years to come!
Got to to the venue and fell in love with all the old cars and planes.
 Buffet style food.

 Cute table decorations!
 Photo Booth
And Characticture Artists

This is how a student asked a girl to this years Prom....so cute!
He spelled 'Prom' with airplanes.  LOVED IT!!!!!

Shattered Dreams.....ALL FAKE!!!!!

With Prom coming up our school decided to have the 'Shattered Dreams' program come to our school.  It is a program that impacts the high school so that they think about their choices during our school functions.
I took pictures since it is such a real likeness to a real 'Drinking and Driving' Scene.  If you are sensitive to this subject please do not read further on.  And if you do look at the pictures please remember that the scene is fake.....ALL ACTORS.

Some of our students made a video of them having a study group with the involvement of alcohol.  Then they get to their car to drive somewhere else.

I showed this video to my students and at the end of the video we hear a car crash......

Next we walked across the street to find this scene....

Then the police came....

Then the firemen came...
Then the ambulance came....

One student was 'pronounced' dead at the scene so they put a yellow tarp over her.

Two students went into the ambulance.

The driving student was arrested....
In the other car....one of our teachers was flight lifted to the nearest hospital.

The mother of the student who 'died' came to the 'scene' to find her daughter....she gave a very convincing performance.

Then the medical examiner came to take the 'dead' student away.

Two of our own students needed extra care so a real ambulance was called to the parking lot to give them some fluids and a little TLC.

Then the tow truck came to move the vehicles out of the parking lot.

Afterwards we had lunch, listened to a speaker who killed someone while drinking and driving, and then each class got to listen to a speaker.  Please do not drink and drive.
