Babyshower Decorations

A newspaper themed baby shower and I am (one of three) in charge of decorations.  I took all these pictures with my phone and then transferred them onto my computer.  The pictures looked much better on my phone...so future reference to myself...also take a picture with my camera.  But here is what I have so far.
Glittery muffin toppers.

I found card stock with glitter letters and cut out the pairs.

Hot glued the matching pairs to toothpicks.
Horizontal name banner.

Had an extra hymnal lying around and large letters.

Then found this wonderful ribbon!  Now the letters do not fall forward.
Vertical number banner.

The front of the pinwheels...starts at one and goes to nine.

Longer than what I expected...guess I am not gifted in the spatial intelligence.

Back of the pinwheels.  Baby's room has a boat theme.

Cute wooden boats I found at Hobby Lobby.
Used an old Latin textbook for the other pinwheels.

Accordion type garlands.  Used an old dictionary for the accordion part.

My first attempt after looking at a picture on Pintrest.
Paper chain garlands

Pinwheel with accordion garland.  I used needle and white thread to hook them together.
Started working on some center pieces

Origami boats started this idea

Used the glitter letters that were too large for the muffin toppers.

My sad attempt at making paper roses.

But add some accordion paper and the roses came out alright.

Made a total of four center pieces.

The baby's first name will start with an 'W' so it worked out nice.
Tried to find paper with boats/maps on them to make the cones.
Most of these ideas came from Pintrest.  But I think it's nice to see what a person can do with these ideas using items around their house.  It tweaks the idea enough to give the impression that you have stamped your own twist onto ideas already on the internet.
