Grandchild becomes teacher to the Step-Grandfather

So, I received a letter from my (95 year old) Step Grandfather that he and my Aunt have fallen in love like a couple teenagers. After my initial shock that my Aunt would marry her late mother's third husband, I managed to put together words of wisdom to my Step Grandfather.

I wrote to him that maybe he could consider; instead of falling in love with my Aunt he could give her a greater love....the love of a Father. What greater love can you think of than the unconditional love God has graciously bestowed upon us.

And as I watched my Telenovela tonight I thought it could be worse. On the show the grandfather slept with his daughter in-law, who is a prostitute since her husband is in love with another woman, who is in love with the neighbor that the grandfather's daughter wants to marry, but the grandfather wants him dead since the neighbor's original owner stole the woman the grandfather truly loved.

It's just as confusing when they say all this in Spanish!

Expect the unexpected

At the beginning of the year I had one class that I dreaded. Luckily, it was second period so I was able to recover and end the day with a smile. Through out the year I have persisted on a daily basis to teach, reteach, multi-sensory teach, and co-teach how to treat each other nicely, positively, and calmly.
Coming back from Spring Break I looked and sounded like Darth Vader from a lovely sinus infection. To my amazement, the second day back at school, my second period class was the only class that asked if I was feeling better.

Food Network....We shall try

That's right....fruit-loops.....

Then on the way home we saw that there wasn't a line at Voodoo Doughnuts. So of course we had to go in. We knew it was meant to be when we also found a parking spot right next to the front door!

Blue Plate. Downtown Portland. Sister and I tried the sliders with mashed potatoes. The meat was a mixture of hamburger and pork. There was Tillamook cheese, grilled onions, and a creamy pesto sauce.   Sister had a hibiscus tea, I had a pineapple soda, and sobrina had a orange soda.
