'I'm So Greatful No One Died' Hike!

Yes, let's take the family hiking!  That's one of the perks of being near waterfalls, mountains, and trails.  In all our years living in this area with small children we have never had any scary encounters with slips, falls, or tumbles.  This was the summer for near death experiences....young and old.

Here we are, all ready to start our fun adventure.  Yay!  Grampa takes some time off to join us on our family time.

Getting the children's carrying contraptions ready.
This is where my cousin started sliding down the cliff....as I'm screaming, "Get him!  Someone get him!"  As he pushes his son to safety, and his wife falls down with one hand reaching out to her husband and the other hand protecting her 3 year old son!
Dad administering first aid to my cousin.
And we decide to carry on....bloodied knee and all!
Spirits started to be encouraged once we got to the falls

Happy Anniversary!  Let's celebrate being alive!

Like father, like son...both ended up with scrapped knees by the end of this hike.

Since my 3 year old cousin never wanted to use the child's carrying device....my 10 year old niece didn't want all that effort of bringing it on our trip to waste.....

 And there she goes....

Dinner at Edgefield.....and being bug detectives while we wait...and wait...and wait.....SheeShaw....we have small children who have been on a death defying hike and are hungry!  How long does it really take to cook some hotdogs!
A little movie watching time while we wait for Salt and Straw.
We waited a little too long with the movie and the battery died......
An Anniversary never to forget!
