July 3rd.....Here's to Traditions.

Growing up July 3rd was more exciting than July 4th.  It was a special day filled with s'mores, bonfires, roman candles, hugs and swimming with the fish.

Dad and I went with my Uncle and Aunt to return to the tradition which is called.....Ring of Fire.

They had these floating lanterns that made the night sky magical.

Early fireworks.

The bonfires are getting started which begins to outline the lake.  I could smell the s'mores from across the lake.

More lanterns.

The fireworks close by start when everyone lights their roman candles which makes the outline of the lake a red color.

We got there early to get parking and left early so we wouldn't be in traffic.
It was fun to see the families cook together, kids playing and making friends, fishing together, and communicate in different languages.  There was comfort in watching other families celebrate their traditions while the smiles of all lit up during every firework.
