Second Day for the Pergola Cover....Part 1

The sun was out and we were ready to use some power tools!

 Putting the first beam up.

 Lining the beams up with the marks on the ledger.

 Making sure the beam is level.

 Screwing the beam into the bracket and then the bracket into the ledger.

 Cutting the beams to make them fit.

 The fancy screws that my contractor says are stronger than fancy bolts.

 First beam done!

 Second beam ready to be lined up.

 Making a mark so they know where to put the bracket on the ledger.

 Marking where the end of the board needs to be cut with the jigsaw.

 My first time using a jigsaw!  I was going to make the decorative end of the board.

 It's like using a sewing machine right?
