1. Broke up old concrete so we could put the new post in.
2. Trip to Home Depot to get the concrete and a work bucket.
3. Went to a very awesome Mom and Pop lumber store! My contractor drove us around so we could put all the materials in his truck!
4. Dad making markings on the concrete so knew where to start the brackets.
5. Spray painted the brackets a glossy black.
6. Started digging the hole for the 6X6X10 foot cedar beam.
Still digging.....
2 feet is a long way down in clay type soil.
7. Ready to put the beam in.
8. Time to mix the concrete.
9. Poured it in....it was a quick set so we didn't have to wait very long. We used 3 bags.
10. Put the dirt back over all the holes and around the beam. We were ready for when my contractor would come the next day.
