And the New School Year has Begun

It is a strange feeling to be playing sports again with students when I've been mastering the art of classroom management for the past 13 years.  To put that skill on the back burner so I can relearn 'gym management' is stressful but I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Once I got the first week under my belt I took on the huge task of Fitness Testing.  I've got a lot of work ahead of me with teaching the proper push-up.  Sit ups are looking good.

Did the 12 minute Run/Walk test instead of the Mile Run Test.  This was definitely less stressful.

For the Kinders, I decided to put together an obstacle course.

Got some fancy new tennis shoes from my Aunt!  These are definitely Texas Tennis Shoes!

I'm in charge of the Jr. Coaches who help out at recess.  The craft stores beckoned me to bedazzle the coveted red pennies they get to wear during recess.

After Fitness Testing the Soccer Unit had the green light to proceed since I couldn't find any footballs in the P.E. inventory  The footballs have two more weeks to show up.

Here we are 'punting' the soccer balls since my boys love to kick the ball as hard as they can.

My first graders are so cute when kicking and trapping the soccer ball.

These two pictures make me smile every single time!

And what a cute idea to promote the Otter exhibit at the zoo!

5th grade was ready for a soccer scrimmage.  It went much better than thought.  Hopefully, this week the weather will be nice and we can play outside.

One of my responsibilities is Run for the Arts.  The money your school brings in pays for amazing performances presented to our students.  This guy had an electric cello and our student's wanted to clap to the beat for every song.

Here I am kicking of the Run for the Arts......so not my thing.....except for bedazzling my T-shirt.  Pictures to soon follow.
