'OUGH'.......what is up with all the different sounds 'ough' makes?

Teaching all the spelling words with 'ough' is rough from a language therapist perspective.  Especially since 'ou' is only suppose to say two sounds...as in...trout.....and ....soup.  So when my mother showed me this article I was in full support. 
If we do take out some of the pronunciations of the 'ough/ou' words I understand we will be taking out some of our cultural heritage from a language standpoint.  But from a perspective of someone who struggles with spelling......I say bring out the pinata, music, and cake!

Making a Couch Presentable

My lovely cat has decided that the scratching post is not up to his standards.  And therefore, my couch seems to fit his needs to sharpen his nails.  After noticing the actual couch behind the ripped up slip cover, I decided it was time to stop the scratching madness.

The cover I made to hide my cat's 'art work'.

Had to make a cover for the top of the arm as well.

I used fabric swatches that were in my craft room and then added a touch of lace to create depth and femininity.

Sometimes when work gets rough....a cute outfit just gives you a little pep in your step.
