Moving Across Country

So I am embarking on a new life!  A huge change and a sense of adventure is flowing through my veins!

Passenger seat is full.   And yes.....the beautiful cake I received from a student is in the cooler.....it made it safe!

Backseat full!

Trunk full!!!

The backseat was so full that I couldn't open the doors.  It was amazing how much I got back there.  Tons of boxes, a refrigerator,  microwave, tub folders, 9 planters, pillows, first aid kit, post-it note poster board,  shoe boxes, a huge suitcase, and toiletries.  This is such an awesome car!

I also bought a car top carrier.  This one was great.

Can barely see out the back...but I got it all in.

Going to miss the Texas sunrise!

Oklahoma City....I missed rush hour traffic.

Kansas takes FOREVER!!!!!

I swear there are camels out there!!!!  The dumb cooler got in the way of the focus!  I saw the camels grazing!

Then all of a sudden I saw white dots on the ground.....lightening up ahead.....some rain....AND

BOOM!!!!  Full blown HAIL STORM!  Golf ball size hail hitting my car.....hail piling up on the road......roads slippery....lightening showing the sides of the roads covered with so much hail it looked like snow.

Then I looked at the temperature and it stated 32 degrees!!!   By the time I thought about taking this picture it had jumped up a bit.  I have never experienced a temperature drop from 67 to 32 degrees in a matter of minutes!

Here is the temperature after the storm....51 degrees.  Later on I found out a tornado had touched down near to where I was traveling.  They had sirens going off and telling people to stay in doors.   Maybe it would have been helpful to put the warnings on the electric signs that are on the freeway.

Safely made it to the hotel.  Everyone wanted to talk to everyone about the 'Hail Storm' they just drove through.

Next day on the road again....   I love Utah!  It is so pretty!

Car still packed.

45th parallel.   And if you have to look this up then I'm glad I have encouraged you continue your education.

Beautiful driving day.  Made it safe.  Only one thing got damaged but that happened when I was unloading things out of my car.  The box and bubble wrap didn't protect the porcelain Hungarian figure as my car backed over my precious treasure.  I might have emotionally gone to a dark place for a few moments......
