It is nice to just hang out and relax with the kids running around, the food being grilled, and the nice breeze floating through the heat of the sun rays.
And a perfect ending to a lovely visit. Yes, pose how your feeling inside! Showing off your love of cars like a pin up model! There was this eerie balance of terrifying moments with pure laughter, sleep deprived days with the peace of second cousins building our same cousin summer memories, and frustrating uncooperative mornings with yummy food and beautiful views hitting our senses.
We will hold on to the memories these photos saved, but also the ones we didn't need a camera. The peace of knowing a mother is helping with the baby, finding a foot stool for $12, relaxing on the porch swing, getting free coffee at Dutch Bros., the discovery of a Betsy Johnson phone purse, the baby giving a death grip on the cat and Sabrina liking it, buying twin beds without sales tax and having them fit in the car, and still laughing at parts of a movie you have seen over a hundred times with your kids.
What a blessing these all were to distract from the pain, discomfort, and awfulness of which my sister had to endure during Chemo and Radiation. Your visit was a blessing. To come during a time where it was a way for my sister to feel the love of family when this disease of cancer wants to strip all that from her. Thank you for your love, grace, and commitment you bestow on me and my family. I am truly blessed.
