I watched a show where they made pot liquor and it was fascinating that people put greens into a pot of boiling water (with some meat) and then drank the liquid. And they said it was good. Well, this I had to try!
I cooked onions, carrots, and celery in butter for 5-10 minutes.
Then I put a ham bone in the pot.
Next, I poured water into the pot had it boil for an hour.
Here is the pot liquor I got!
It was good. The next day I crock-potted a pork shoulder in the pot-liquor for 10 hours. They made great BQ sliders. The pork meat slide right off the bone.
